welcome.

This body of work explores conversations with designers, educators and industry professionals in order to seek out experiential stories and industry knowledge, in pursuit of understanding what it will take to create a circular approach to production in the local fashion industry. It paints a picture of the opportunities and challenges that the industry faces, as we begin to re-imagine the future of fashion. As Céline Semaan says, circularity is based on the principle that:

“Everything you make returns to Earth as either food or poison.”

This body of work was created by Stella Hertantyo. Stella is a third-year Multimedia Production student at UCT. She is a slow living enthusiast and a lover of low-impact fashion. Stella is passionate about encouraging an approach to sustainability that is inclusive, accessible, fun, and locally-centred, as we try to figure out how to create a regenerative future.

Enjoy!
